The mystery of Navjot Singh Sidhu’s laughter

The curiosity of the nation was piqued when scientists took former cricketer and ex-BJP MP, Navjot Singh Sidhu’s DNA sample after seeing him laugh the way he did. They claimed that the research may unlock many mysteries on happiness, eccentricities and would prove to be a breakthrough on the gene responsible for laughter.

“When I fool around with the celebrities who came as high profile salesmen endorsing their movies at my show ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’, Sheri Paaji (Sidhu) was the only man who protected my pride by laughing loudly from the audience side.” said Kapil Sharma, the actor and the director of the show.
It’s hard to believe but the show actually garnered the highest viewership ratings for the year 2013 vaulting over KBC and BigBoss. Many believe that Sidhu’s nerve wracking laughter was a key ingredient in driving the show to the top.

“Sixer Sidhu used to laugh uncontrollably when the team performed low. We used to wonder what’s wrong but since he took sixes back to back, we never minded it.” said Kapil Dev, then captain of the Indian Team.
When asked, Mr. Amarinder Singh said, “AfterI succeeded him, I got to know that the members of the parliament used to shout and get physical (as usual) just to avoid boring national work and to go home as soon as possible to farm on Farmville. But, Sidhu was the only one to not join them. Instead, he used to sit in one corner and keep laughing, puzzling them all.”

Insiders say that when they took him to a psychiatrist, he was advised to take a break from all the serious work as it did not suit his personality. That is the main reason why he started to focus on entertaining people or rather just showing everyone his teeth.
When asked for an interview, Sidhu Paaji invited Daily Humour to his home, not just the reporter, our entire staff of 3 got to go. The home had been decorated and was in a party mood. It seemed like they were celebrating something. A glass of lassi was shoved into our hands and we were shooed into a sumptuous Punjabi feast even before we could ask what was going on.

Post the meal, Sidhu talked to us. “Oye, you know what? I saw many ups and downs in my life. I have met crazy people on the way who did all sorts of stupid things. That used to make my head spin and my blood boil. Sometimes when my reputation got threatened, I used to get very tensed too.”

When asked about why nobody ever saw him angry, he said, “What do you mean? Oye… My blood pressure would shoot up and to just bring it to normal I used to laugh with all my might. It’s called laughing therapy. Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha….!”. We silently slipped out as he launched into one of his shayaris.

It is commendable that the 6ft 2″ ex-MP has transitioned from a road rage convict to a laughing Buddha who doesn’t look like he is capable of harming a mouse. Be that as it may, all eyes are on the lookout for the results of Paaji’s DNA analysis and what mysteries they hold with respect to laughing like a jackass hyena.
